Star Citizen’s 42nd Squadron campaign will not be released in 2020

Star Citizen’s single-player campaign squadron 42 will not launch in 2020. CloudImperium Games boss Chris Roberts stated in a blog that the game will be completed “after completion” and will not be in 2020.

He said: “I know everyone wants to set the finalization date for the 42nd Squadron, but the best answer I can give you is that it is scheduled for the squadron, and this is not this year.”

Roberts has high hopes for the 42nd Squadron, saying that his goal is to become “the pinnacle of a single-player space adventure.”

Roberts said: “Like “Star Citizen”, the 42nd Squadron has always been my dream to be immersed in a fascinating story, where I am a star in my own huge space epic.” “When I made Wing In the Commander series, there are always technical limitations, so I have to choose my own way of fighting. But with Squadron 42, I can finally immerse you in your own adventures and compete with any large budget movie. See it on the big screen, interact and form relationships with the characters played by some of your favorite actors, and fight and set a work that makes any Star Wars movie proud.”

The 42nd Squadron has many very famous actors, including Gary Alderman, Mark Hamill, John Rees Davis, Gillian Anderson, Andy Serkis, Ben Mendelssohn , Liam Cunningham and Mark Strong.

Roberts went on to say that the long-term development of the 42nd Squadron was a direct result of the expanded scope and ambition of the project.

He said: “I could have insisted on the original, much simpler game proposed in 2012, but as the scope of “Star Citizen” expands, I feel that I need to develop a single player game to compete with the multiplayer of “Star Citizen”. The ambition is equal.” “With the amount of energy and energy invested by Squadron 42, we will not release it until it is completely polished, performed well and full of emotional impact.”

This is a clear difference compared to Star Citizen, which is released approximately every three months.

The entire “Star Citizen” project has raised more than 300 million US dollars in funding. Currently, there are 5 studios and more than 640 people working on the project worldwide.
